Lanolizing - Spray Method
Lanolizing is a necessary step in caring for your wool to ensure that it is well conditioned. Over time, washing (even with lanolin rich wool wash products) can strip away the lanolin and leave your wool dry.
One of the convenient products on the market is "spray lanolin" (liquid mixture containing lanolin oil). Generally, spray lanolin will not do as thorough a job as solid lanolin or balm, but it is a quick and easy product for touch ups between lanolizing!
- Spray wool inside and out from about a foot away (if the product says otherwise, go with that as bottles/pumps can vary).
- Pat the spray into the wool fibers.
Easy as pie! One downfall of spray lanolin is that it can get a bit messy if the spray misses around the wool. You may want to put your wool on an old towel before spraying. If you have any tips you would like to share, we'd love to hear it! Just send an email to admin@washingwool.info.
